Discovered in the fireplace of an old shepherd's cottage, that once stood on the site, Sixpenny Cottage takes its name from a Treasure Trove of James I Six Pence pieces. For the birder or twitcher alike the surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for walking and bird watching. Thomas Hardy gained inspiration for some of his most famous books from this area. With an aura of yester years, the numerous attractive stone cottages which front the village add to this truly English scene. Sixpenny Cottage is a wonderful holiday home to enjoy a holiday.
