Flintstones is a beautifully furnished annexe attached to the owners property, situated in the village of Buckland St. Mary, near Bishopswood in South Somerset near the Devon border. Peacefully located in the countryside of the Blackdown Hills AONB, this property is perfect for a relaxing break and is ideally located for exploring the Somerset/ Devon/Dorset area. Step into the cottage and be welcomed by a bright and fresh lounge/diner which boasts plenty of seating as well as a dining table and a TV. The room benefits from Velux windows which allow natural light to flood in as well as French doors which open out onto a private south-west facing patio area, perfect for a drink or something to eat. To the right of the hallway lies a well-presented bedroom with a super-king double bed to provide you with a good night's sleep. Adjacent to the bedroom is an immaculate bathroom with has a shower over the bath. The kitchen is modern and contains all the necessary equipment for your stay. Flintstones also comes with the added luxury of a private, delightful patio with outdoor furniture looking out onto a lawned garden with borders and woodland plants. Buckland St. Mary is a small village nestled within the unspoilt rural landscape of the Blackdown Hills AONB with a wide range of walking opportunities within easy reach such as Otterhead Lakes, and Castle Neroche and Staple Hill Iron-Age Hill Forts. There is a renowned gastropub just 1 mile away in the neighbouring village of Bishopswood. The cottage is well-located to explore the area. The county town of Taunton is just 9 miles away, home to Somerset County Cricket club and containing a good range of shops and a theatre. A range of market towns such as Ilminster, Chard and Honiton are within easy driving distance as is the Jurassic Coast of Lyme Regis and Sidmouth just 30 minutes away. The north Somerset coast and the Somerset Levels are also within easy reach. A large number of National Trust and other historic houses and gardens such as Forde Abbey, Hestercombe, Barrington Court and Burrow Farm Gardens are close by and well worth a visit. Flintstones is a wonderful cottage which is ideally located with excellent transport links to make the most of a holiday exploring the varied landscape of Somerset, Dorset and Devon and can be enjoyed throughout the year.
