When I first walked into Wharf House, one of the only two original buildings of the ancient St Ebbe's parish, my reaction was “This place needs character and soul.” The building was adapted to a pub where Karl Marx used to drink and then changed into a rental property. A huge crocodile leather mirror leans towards 200-year old stone wall, reflecting old memories in the new.
