The local authority valet the beach daily and have provided amenities including toilets, a shower and play equipment.There is a tidal lagoon located on this beach which provides the added benefit of water for paddling and swimming at all times of the tide. The lagoon gently slopes from the beach to a maximum depth of 1.2m.The nearest railway station is Southend Central (10 minutes walk). The beach is situated on Western Esplanade, to the west of the Pier.
