Nestled in Flimwell, Wadhurst, East Sussex, this charming shepherd's hut accommodates two guests and is nestled within the renowned Cedar Gables Campsite, which boasts over 45 years of hospitality experience. The site is ideally situated for exploring the picturesque Kent and East Sussex border, with a convenient footpath leading directly to the scenic Bewl Water reservoir. Guests can enjoy the tranquility of the area while being just a short distance from attractions such as Scotney Castle and Bedgebury Forest, both located within two miles of the campsite.
The shepherd's hut is set on a spacious 170 square meter private and fenced pitch, designed to provide a secluded retreat. Facing the sunset, the hut features ample outdoor space for cooking and relaxation, surrounded by high hedges that shield it from the elements. In front of the hut, guests can find a vegetable garden, while a chicken field, home to three pampered hens, lies to the right. Access is granted through a private gate, leading to a garden path that opens into the hut, which is fully equipped for a comfortable stay.
Inside the hut, guests will find a cozy kitchenette equipped for making hot drinks and snacks, alongside a king-sized bed, a private shower, and a flushing toilet. The outside kitchen is fully furnished with an electric hob, grill, kettle, toaster, microwave, and sink, as well as a dining table for al fresco meals. A fire pit and BBQ area are conveniently located between the hut and the outside kitchen, providing the perfect setting for enjoying sunsets, s'mores, and drinks while seated in provided deckchairs. A grassy area opposite the hut invites guests to partake in games or simply relax in the sun.
For added convenience, the hut comes stocked with essential supplies, including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bedding, towels, and kitchenware. While parking is available next to the shepherd's hut, larger vehicles may need to be parked outside the fenced area under certain conditions. It is important to note that from March 13 to June 30, 2023, there may be overnight road closures nearby that could affect travel plans. Guests are encouraged to explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area, including High Weald and Eridge Rocks Nature Reserve, as well as cultural sites like the Cranbrook Museum and Assembly Hall Theater.
