Nestled within a sprawling 23,000-acre wilderness reserve, the lodge is surrounded by rugged landscapes, lush forests, and sparkling rivers, providing guests with the opportunity to encounter wildlife such as red squirrels, red deer, and the elusive Scottish wild cat. This Victorian Manor, dating back to 1877 and recently refurbished by Laura Ashley, showcases elegant yet traditional interiors that reflect the charm of a true Scottish home.

Accommodating up to fourteen guests across seven well-appointed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, Caledonian Lodge is ideal for couples on holiday together or for business events. A home gym is also available for those looking to stay active during their stay, and a small double bedroom with an en-suite shower room is conveniently located on the ground floor for guests with mobility concerns.

Outside, the vast wilderness reserve invites exploration right from the doorstep, with numerous outdoor pursuits available for an additional charge. Guests can partake in guided hikes, mountain biking, ranger-led tours, brown trout fishing, clay pigeon shooting, whisky tasting, and even foraging for their own meals. The diverse range of activities ensures that there is something for everyone at Caledonian Lodge, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Despite its remote setting, Caledonian Lodge is easily accessible via the well-maintained A9 road along the east coast towards Tain. The nearest village, Ardgay, is just half an hour away, while Dornoch, the closest town, is under an hour’s drive, ensuring that essential amenities are within reach.
