Just 6 miles from the cottage is the small and mighty village of Brora. Stroll along the sand and hunt for Jurassic rocks along the beach, where you may even spot a dolphin or minke whale. Enjoy a round of golf on the coast side course, and tour Clynelish Distillery, founded in 1819. For a scenic drive, follow the North Coast 500 route from Brora to explore the Highlands' spectacular coastline. Spend a day discovering the splendid interiors of Dunrobin Castle (11 miles) and the romantic formal gardens, or head south for the Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve (18 miles). Throughout the cottage is bright, light, and elegantly decorated. Step into the open plan lounge/diner. To the left is the lounge area, with plenty of comfortable seating around the open fire. Throw a few logs on in the evening while you watch a DVD or discuss plans for the days ahead. To the right is the dining area, with a lovely wooden table set for six. The kitchen has everything you need for a home cooked meal: electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher to help clean up afterwards. There is also a second table, ideal for breakfasting. Spend time in the colourful sunroom, keeping an eye out for local wildlife or doing a spot of star gazing as darkness falls. On the ground floor there is also a utility room and WC. Back in the lounge/diner, climb the central staircase to head to bed. All three bedrooms a double with en suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and two twins have charming sloped ceilings. Completing this floor is a bathroom with shower attachment and WC. Relax with a drink or leisurely brunch outside in the enclosed lawned garden, where you can get comfortable on the seating. Simply sit back, breathe the fresh air, and bask in the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings.
