The cottage is situated in the serene village of Langton Matravers, located within the picturesque Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, South West England. This traditional Purbeck village is home to a popular public house, a village shop, and a parish church, all within a short walking distance from the cottage. The area is renowned for its walking and cycling opportunities, with the stunning Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, just a twenty-minute stroll away. Additionally, the historic village of Corfe Castle, famous for its charming thatched cottages and tea shops, is nearby, while the sandy beach of Swanage is a mere five minutes away, along with the quaint hilltop villages of Kingston and Worth Matravers.

Upon entering this delightful cottage, guests are welcomed by a light and spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area, which retains original features such as exposed stonework and a Purbeck flagstone floor. The lounge is tastefully furnished with comfortable seating, a traditional wood burner, and modern amenities including SkyTV and a DVD player, along with a selection of books and games for entertainment. The dining area complements the stylish kitchen, which is fully equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, and integrated dishwasher, ensuring a convenient cooking experience. Additional amenities include a washing machine, a ground floor WC, and a drying area for outdoor gear.

The first floor of the cottage features three charming bedrooms, including a master double room with a king-size bed and views over the garden. A second double bedroom, adorned with an original fireplace, also offers garden views, while a cozy single bedroom provides scenic views of the surrounding countryside. For families, an inflatable single bed can be arranged for two children in one of the double rooms. A well-appointed shower room with a WC completes the upper level, catering to the needs of all guests.

Outside, the cottage boasts a lovely south-facing enclosed garden, featuring a rustic flagstone patio equipped with garden furniture and a BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining. A unique transparent cover over the patio offers a glimpse into the original water well that once supplied the cottage, now home to a couple of goldfish. Guests can enjoy beautiful views of Swanage Bay and, on clear days, the Isle of Wight from the garden. The property includes a garden shed for storing bikes and outdoor equipment, and there is ample parking for up to three cars in the gravel driveway at the top of the garden, though caution is advised due to changes in levels and uneven surfaces along the garden path.
