It is situated on the northern boundaries of Portland Harbour. There are nearby boutiques, coffee shops, and eateries, including the renowned Crab House café, which has oyster beds just outside its door. A legacy of the Olympic Games, the National Sailing School is only two miles away on the edge of Portland Harbour and offers a wide range of water activities. The Fleet Lagoon, which connects Wyke Regis and Chesil Beach, is a significant place for wildlife. Several bird species may be spotted there, and Chesil Beach is also a well-known location for fishing. The Fleet is perhaps best known for serving as the location of Barnes Wallis' bouncing bomb testing, which was made famous by the Dam Busters movie. Many of Dorset's most famous locations along the Jurassic Coast may be explored from Wyke Regis.
