Enjoy the 3 miles of golden sandy beaches at Dunnet Bay (10 miles) and look out for surfers and kite surfers. Caithness has endless beautiful roads making it perfect for cycling on this surprisingly flat landscape. Ensure you make time for a visit to the Heritage Centre in Wick which houses a kipper kiln, a cooperage, a harbour scene, a restored fisherman s house, an art gallery, the famous Johnston Collection of photographs cataloguing 115 years of history, and a working lighthouse. The Heritage Centre is a treasure trove of discoveries that presents the story of the town. The modern wooden lodge has wrap around patio decking and a glass entrance door where you can access the wonderful stylish open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax in the lounge area with a book whilst your companion relaxes on the cosy sofa (which is a sofa bed) and watches a movie on the TV and a DVD player. The light floods through the windows of the south facing property offering beautiful countryside views. The dining area consists of a table for four people. The kitchen itself is well equipped yet compact and has all the comforts you could need during your stay. The king size bedroom is integrated into the open plan living area which has been tastefully furnished and decorated. There is a separate twin bedroom and a shower room. Outside, the decked garden area contains garden furniture to enjoy al fresco dining or enjoy a morning coffee whilst breathing in the fresh morning air. There are the farm animals for company, with two pet sheep called Chico and Sylvie who live close to the lodge; they are very friendly and love to say hello. The very spacious BBQ hut for your own private use is located adjacent to the lodge.
