The area is largely managed by the National Trust, providing access to breathtaking walking routes such as Padley Gorge, Haywood, and the Longshaw Estate. Visitors can also enjoy a delightful pub lunch at the nearby Sir William or stock up on groceries for their stay in the village.
The cottage is set back from the road on a hill, providing beautiful views over the valley. A well-lit pathway leads through the front garden to the main entrance, which opens into a welcoming hall—a perfect spot for storing coats and boots. The inviting sitting and dining room features wooden floors and a cozy log-burning stove, framed by an attractive stone fireplace, creating a warm atmosphere for relaxation and dining.
The fully equipped kitchen, adorned with stone flags and a unique map-covered feature wall, is designed for planning outdoor adventures. It boasts granite worktops, a Belfast sink, a practical breakfast table, and an original 100-year-old side oven with a back boiler, complemented by lovely views of the garden. The master bedroom features a king-sized sleigh bed, a vibrant wallpapered accent wall, wooden floorboards, and charming curtains, while the second bedroom also includes a double bed with views of the garden. Both rooms share a recently renovated bathroom, equipped with an elegant corner bath, a separate shower cubicle, and stylish floor-to-ceiling stone tiling. Outside, a courtyard and summer house provide a lovely setting for barbecues at the low stone table, along with a sunlit stone-walled courtyard and a lawned garden with a patio sitting area, perfect for enjoying the serene surroundings.
