'The Guest Room' At Parade House In Fort William

Fort William, Highland

2

Parade House, a historic building dating back to the end of the Jacobite Rebellions, is situated in a secluded area overlooking the charming gardens of Fort William's Parade. The property has been transformed by local couple Nicola and Jim McCallum, who are dedicated to restoring it into a home and workspace for their business, McCallum Art House. While renovations are ongoing, they have successfully created 'The Guest Room', a comfortable space for visitors, alongside an art gallery and a furniture painting studio. The bustling town center, filled with shops, restaurants, and bars, is conveniently close, and private parking is available for guests.

'The Guest Room' is a self-contained en-suite bedroom located on the upper floor of Parade House, accessed through its own entrance via an external staircase. Upon entering, guests are welcomed into a hallway that leads to a spacious bedroom featuring a king-sized bed, a relaxing area, and a well-appointed shower room. Although the room is let on a room-only basis, guests are treated to a welcome pack with essentials such as tea, coffee, and shortbread, as well as amenities like a fridge, kettle, and coffee machine, allowing for convenient dining options. The room is bright and inviting, showcasing the owners' artistic flair through carefully chosen artwork and repurposed furniture.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the owners have implemented strict cleaning and sanitizing protocols in accordance with public health guidelines. This includes maintaining a minimum of 24 hours between bookings and providing handwashing and sanitizing materials for guests. Upon arrival, guests are requested to remove outdoor footwear and clothing, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment. The Guest Room is completely self-contained, allowing for contact-free check-in and check-out through a key lock box, with a family member available for emergencies when the owners are away.

Located in Fort William, guests have access to a wealth of outdoor activities, including skiing, mountain climbing, and water sports such as sailing and kayaking. For those preferring a more leisurely exploration, the town offers museums, a distillery, and a variety of cafes and shops. Nearby attractions include beautiful beaches, an award-winning contemporary Scottish art gallery, and historical monuments. The property is conveniently situated just a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal and train station, making it easy to explore the region. While public transport is available, having a car or bike is recommended for a more comprehensive experience of the stunning Highlands.
