Merchants Rise is a contemporary second-floor apartment located in Dartmouth, Devon, within a historically significant Grade I listed building that dates back to the 17th century. The apartment has been tastefully restored, combining modern amenities with original features such as wood panelling and mullion windows, creating a comfortable and characterful living space. It accommodates up to four guests, making it an ideal choice for families or small groups, and is conveniently situated within walking distance of Dartmouth’s charming shops, award-winning restaurants, and the picturesque harbour.
The apartment is accessed via two flights of steep stairs, which may pose challenges for guests with mobility issues or very young children. However, it is pet-friendly, allowing dogs by prior arrangement for an additional fee. The interior features a modern kitchen with a dining area, alongside a cozy living room that boasts a period fireplace, two sofas, and entertainment options including a 30” flatscreen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. For additional sleeping arrangements, there is a sofa bed available upon request.
Merchants Rise offers two well-appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom, located on the top floor, includes a king-sized bed and a comfortable lounge area with two easy chairs and another flatscreen TV. Its en-suite bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower, bath, and WC, providing guests with a luxurious experience. The second bedroom, referred to as the cabin room, features a 4ft double bed with an additional 2ft 6 single bed above it, along with an en-suite shower room. It is recommended that the double bed be used by only one adult or child due to its size.
Situated in the vibrant town of Dartmouth, the apartment provides easy access to cultural attractions such as the Dartmouth Museum and the Golden Hind. Families can enjoy nearby activities at Coleton Fishacre House & Gardens and Woodlands Family Theme Park, while those seeking adventure can explore water sports like motor boating and sailing.
