Abingdon-on-Thames is a historic town situated in rural Oxfordshire, where the river Thames meets the River Ock.

The town’s marketplace hosts weekly Monday markets, monthly farmers’ markets and quarterly local food and craft markets.

The university city of Oxford is within 8 miles which you can catch the regular local bus to within a short walk from the property, and has many attractions to include the Bodleian Library, punting along the river, an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafés and bars and great shopping at the Westfield shopping centre.
There are Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in every direction, including the Berkshire Downs, The Cotswolds, and The Chilterns. You can spend time meandering through country roads, admiring the beautiful scenery, walking, and cycling and stopping off at country pubs along the way. Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill, is 16 miles and hosts many events throughout the year. For shopaholics, no trip to this area would be complete without a trip to Bicester shopping village, with numerous designer outlet shops within a 30-minute drive. The nearest train station is in Didcot with regular trains to London.
