Try stylish and informal Dylan's overlooking the beach, small family owned Poachers where local produce is used to create a menu with international influences, popular flower bedecked Castle Inn, a friendly Welsh tavern with good food, Tir a Mor day time cafe/restaurant,Castle Fish and Chips for traditional seaside meals, The Moelwyn, Y Sgwar and the Moorings Bistro. Bon appetit! Coastal Path Begin the walk by the Castle and look out for scorch marks from the Welsh rebel Glyndwr's attack on the Castle. The ruins were striking enough to have inspired the artist JMW Turner. The walk hugs the cliffsides before turning inland along river banks and rural lanes on its circuit through the village of Llanystymdwy, which was the childhood home of David Lloyd George (the Welsh prime minister) where there is an interesting museum to his memory. Stop there and visit the Llechwedd Slate Caverns or for the more adventurous try the longest zip wire run in the world - a very popular new feature. The Welsh Highland goes in the opposite directions through the famous Aberglaslyn Pass and onto Caernarfon - whose mighty castle is well worth a visit. CastlesCriccieth, Caernarfon, Harlech and Conwy Castles are all within easy reach and offer hours of inspiration and entertainment. Gateway to the Lleyn Peninsula Criccieth is set at the edge of this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
