La Belle Villa, Rostrevor, N. Ireland, Rostrevor

County Down. Sleeps up to 6

Our new villa has great views of the mountains and sea at Carlingford Lough, is close to restaurants and dining, the small beach at Rostrevor, family-friendly activities (walking, trekking, cycling on the Mourne mountains and sailing in the bay), and nightlife. You’ll love it here because of the views, the location, people, ambiance, peace, outdoors space and beautiful fresh air. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families with older kids - maximum of 6 persons.

The space

La Belle Villa has been awarded a 5 star rating with the N.I. Tourist Board. It is a brand-new building, built to modern standards and sits in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in Rostrevor. There are 2 double beds in bedroom 1 and a brand new large sofa bed in the sitting room, making it a second bedroom if required. It can accommodate 6 people. There is ample private parking space immediately adjacent to the villa and above all, total privacy is guaranteed.
Rostrevor, " The Riviera of the North" is famous for its social life, with its excellent selection of restaurants and bars. It is also popular with tourists because of its culture and history. We have the Narnia Trail, the Cloughmore Stone and are at the foothill of the Mourne mountains. Rostrevor is also the home of General Ross, who invaded the USA in 1814 - the only time in U.S. history that Washington, D.C. has been occupied by a foreign force.

Guests have full use of the modern villa and its surrounding paths & mature gardens containing friendly and affectionate miniature Shetland ponies. A particular attraction up on our hill is the sunhouse made from cedar wood and glass. From here guests can relax and enjoy elevated views of Carlingford Lough. There are built in ramps ensuring full access for guests.

Interaction with guests

We will be available / accessible at all times and will help with anything which may arise. We may provide a local taxi service may, depending on demand.

Other things to note

We are at the end of a fully mature driveway and the villa is completely self sufficient as well as being totally secluded and private. The villa is south - facing and outside, has a private suntrap area partially surrounded by dense shrubbery at its side.

This description is best summarised by direct quotes from our guests, Ann and Jim (25/5/2019) "Looking forward to a few days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we were overwhelmed by everything staying at the Belle Villa. First of all, the approach to the bungalow was an amazing drive up the tree and shrub lined avenue, likened to a "fairy glen." We were greeted by John, a warm, friendly and witty guy who made us feel so welcome. The bungalow is situated in such a beautiful spot, has well maintained and beautifully designed gardens, the bungalow itself is stunning. Spacious, spotless and so comfortable with everything you need. Tiled floors throughout, massive bathroom with a fantastic power shower. Beautiful and comfortable leather settees. A large bedroom with two of the most comfortable beds and pillows., where you just sink into and fall asleep. From every window at the front the views are amazing. You have the majestic mountains in Carlingford and Omeath, the gentle rolling hills surrounding the countryside with their cattle and sheep, the sweet bird song, a little piece of Heaven on earth. The entire time, just views and tranquillity that take your breath away. For self catering, we have never before experienced anything like what John and Dolores offer. Trust me, it will have everlasting wonderful memories."

Located in Newry, this villa is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Narrow Water Castle and Mary Catherine's Cottage are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion. Burren Heritage Centre and Slieve Gullion are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with kayaking and motor boating nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with mountain climbing and hiking/biking trails.
