Kite Hill Yurts is set on a hillside in Powys with magnificent views of the Black Mountains and surrounding countryside. Hovering above the Wye Valley, situated on the long distance Wye Valley Walk and adjoining a 5000 acre moorland it is the perfect getaway for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts and those who enjoy the great outdoors.
Within easy travelling distance of the market towns of Builth Wells, Hay-on-Wye, Llandrindod Wells, Brecon and the Brecon Beacons National Park there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Whichever direction you choose to strike out in you can be assured it will be the scenic route!
Our traditional Mongolian yurts are situated in a hay meadow on our 11 acre smallholding. Each yurt sleeps up to 4/5 people so is ideal for individuals, couples or small families although we do take 'chilled out' adult groups if both yurts are booked. With log-burners for extra cosiness, comfy beds and each with their own kitchenette, fire pit and barbecue, you will soon be settling in, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful Mid Wales countryside.
Sharing our smallholding are alpacas (who were here long before we were!), ducks, bees and three friendly cats. We are working towards self-sufficiency and so far we have converted the farmhouse to wood-fired heating and solar power. We have also begun planting a coppice and an edible forest garden which surround the yurt field and will provide us with fuel and food in the future.
We aim to take a low-impact, sustainable approach where possible and this extends to our yurt site as much as any other part of the smallholding.
We look forward to welcoming you!
