Cwmhir Court is a charming retreat located on the outskirts of Clyro, offering a tranquil escape while being conveniently close to the bustling market town of Hay-on-Wye, known for its rich cultural scene and annual book festival. This vibrant town features a historic castle, a small independent cinema, and a diverse array of quirky shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants. Additionally, every Thursday, the town hosts a farmers market that showcases seasonal local produce, artisan cheeses, and crafts, making it a hub for both locals and visitors. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the nearby Warren beach along the river offers opportunities for paddling and wild swimming, while walkers can explore the Offa's Dyke footpath and Wye Valley Walk, with the Roundabout Walk on The Begwns providing a more leisurely option with stunning views.
The Silo, a unique accommodation at Cwmhir Court, is designed from two repurposed farm silos, creating a contemporary space characterized by smooth, curved walls and elegant lighting that highlights its architectural features. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a spacious entrance hall that boasts a high ceiling and ample natural light, complemented by a small utility room equipped with a washing machine and WC. To the right, the lounge offers a comfortable setting to unwind while enjoying picturesque views, a small library of books, and a wall-mounted television for entertainment.
To the left of the entrance hall lies the kitchen/diner, thoughtfully designed to fit the building's curvature. This well-equipped space features modern appliances, including an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, along with a dining table and chairs for five positioned by a window, enhancing the dining experience with natural light. A wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where guests will find two inviting bedrooms, one a double with breathtaking views and a private balcony, complete with an en suite shower room. The second double room also offers stunning vistas and shares a shower room and WC on the landing with a single room, accessible via a curved wooden staircase to the second floor.
Outside, Cwmhir Court features an enclosed garden where guests can relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings, equipped with a table, chairs, and a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining.
