The Hazel Hide is a sustainably constructed A-frame cabin located in Ashington, West Sussex, set on a tranquil 7-acre plot at the foot of the picturesque South Downs National Park. This architecturally designed retreat accommodates up to four guests, featuring two versatile bedrooms—one on the ground floor and another in the mezzanine. Each room can be configured as either two single beds or one king-size bed, offering flexibility for guests. The cabin’s design emphasizes natural light and comfort, with stunning views of the rolling Sussex countryside enhancing the overall experience.
Inside, guests will find a modern bathroom equipped with a hot shower, toilet, and sink, while the living area serves as the heart of the cabin. This bright space boasts bi-fold doors that open to a spacious deck facing the fields, ideal for summer relaxation on the outdoor hammock. In winter, the efficient, DEFRA-approved wood-burning stove provides warmth and coziness. Additionally, the living room includes a convertible sofa bed for accommodating extra guests, and a compact kitchen outfitted with essential appliances such as a gas hob, oven, and fridge, ensuring a comfortable self-catering experience.
The Hazel Hide is powered entirely by solar energy, reflecting a commitment to sustainability, with a backup generator available but unused to date. While the cabin is equipped with USB ports for charging devices, guests should note that standard plug sockets are absent. This unique cabin offers exclusive access to the surrounding flower field and woodland, allowing guests to immerse themselves in nature. Although flower pickers may occasionally be present at a distance, the cabin itself remains a private sanctuary for relaxation and exploration.
Situated in Pulborough, The Hazel Hide is close to several local attractions, including the Amberley Working Museum and the West Sussex Golf Club.
