Barn In Lea Bridge, Derbyshire

Lea Bridge, Derbyshire

4

This pretty detached stone cottage is nestled in the sleepy village of Lea Bridge. Built in the 1790s as the hat factory's coachman's residence and now totally refurbished. The area is a haven for those who enjoy the outdoors, with direct access to the High Peak Trail, mature woodlands and canal side walks. There is a great local pub, post office and general store, fabulous local butcher and a cute cafe with an amazing view. Take a walk down the Cromford Canal, which is part of the Derwent World Heritage site and lies less than half a mile away. The Cromford Mills complex is 1.5 miles on foot. Visit Crich Tramway Museum which contains an array of trams and is set within a recreated period village containing a working pub, cafe, old style sweet shop and depots within 2.5 miles of the cottage. Maybe even enjoy some of Derbyshire s stately homes: Chatsworth House or Haddon Hall are within 15 miles. There are impressive floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen extension which looks up the garden; you can view the remaining high stone wall which was part of the old hat factory, and all the surrounding tree filled hills. The industrial German kitchen is a delight to cook in, complemented with a traditional stone floor with underfloor heating. The social space offers a breakfast bar and seating, with a further comfy sofa and chair. Next to the kitchen are the utility room and downstairs WC. The lounge and dining room have a dual aspect wood burner as the central feature. Relax on the comfy sofas in the lounge with low ceilings and dim lighting and Smart TV or gather around the dining table. The old pine staircase leads to the first floor where you will find a beautiful king size bedroom and a bathroom. The mezzanine offers a sofa bed, which can be included for guests at an extra cost and has its own en suite shower room. The second floor offers a double bedroom with an en suite shower room. The garden offers plenty of space to relax surrounded by mature trees. There is a patio with garden dining furniture, and a stone lockable garden shed suitable for bike storage.
