The lodge's open-plan design includes a central lounge that seamlessly connects to a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, with French doors that open onto a private deck complete with a bubbling hot tub, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding woodland.
The Sherwood Hideaway Lodges are surrounded by majestic woodlands and winding country lanes, providing ample opportunities for walking and cycling enthusiasts to explore the natural beauty of the area. Guests can also enjoy the facilities at nearby Thoresby Hall, which caters to visitors aged 21 and over. These amenities include an indoor heated pool, a solarium, a sauna, a steam room, a gymnasium, and a beauty salon, along with bike hire and geocaching activities. Dining options are available at the fully licensed Bay Tree Café and various charming craft shops and galleries located within the hall's premises, although some services may incur additional charges.
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates, with the option to request alternatives directly from the park. For those who prefer specific bedding, such as polyester pillows and duvets instead of the provided duck feather and down, prior notification to the park is necessary, as replacements may incur a fee. The lodges come equipped with essential amenities, including a small fridge with a freezer compartment and electric log-effect fires in the lounge. However, it is important to note that private hot tubs were temporarily closed as of July 10, 2020, following government guidelines.
The Sherwood Hideaway Lodges maintain strict policies regarding group bookings and pet accommodations. Guests are advised that bringing pets without reserving a designated pet lodge may result in additional charges or denial of entry. Local attractions include Mr. Straw's House, Hodsock Priory, Clumber Park, and Rufford Country Park, with Walesby Forest and Wheelgate Park also offering engaging experiences for visitors. The lodge's check-in time is strictly set at 4:00 PM, ensuring a smooth and organized arrival process for all guests.
