Barn In Hartland, North Devon

Hartland, Devon

2

Hartland peninsula is ideal for those who enjoy country walks, as there are miles of walks available direct from the property, including access to the South West Coastal Path, with its cliff top views. There is a secluded beach just a mile walk from the property, however, if you want to enjoy a traditional day at the beach, with soft sand and a range of facilities, the beaches of Westward Ho! and Bude are both within fifteen miles of the property. Although the property feels remote, the charming village of Hartland is a short drive away, offering a range of shops, eateries, pubs and galleries. This former detached granary is part of our exclusive collection with Joules and has been beautifully styled with touches of their signature style throughout. Hand picked additions such as bedding and crockery add to the already enticing interior. It is a petite bolthole for those who want to get away from it all with uninterrupted spectacular sea views from the seating area. The entrance is to one side of the owner's walled courtyard garden and the family farmhouse is to the other. A warm welcome awaits yet privacy is assured. Step down into the open plan retreat, light the wood burner, and settle in for a snug evening with a feast, a bottle of wine and a film on the TV/DVD. Thick stone walls and original grain store windows give a wonderful sense of tranquility, whilst the double height of the living space creates space and light. The little kitchen is cleverly fitted at one end of the living space with an electric oven and a two ring hob, and fridge/freezer. Perfect for cooking a lazy breakfast in bed, or a light supper. Climb the spiral staircase to the driftwood double bed on the mezzanine level under the eaves, but please be careful of the low sloping ceilings within this room which are all part of the charm and character of this cottage. You'll sleep well in this cosy home after a day in the salty sea air down at the local cove a place which you may even have all to yourselves! The bathroom can be found on the ground floor and has a beautiful freestanding roll top bath, with hand held shower, atmospheric room lighting and a WC. Your outside seating area is around to the far side of the cottage where you can enjoy the spectacular sea views and it is a perfect place to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining or cuddle up under a blanket whilst watching the sun go down. There is also a small, yet sheltered area to the front of the cottage too. The parking area is directly by the cottage.
