The rich history of Appletree Barn adds to its charm, originally serving as an annexe to the holiday home of Colonel Jack Lesley and his wife Margo in 1925. After World War II, the main house became their permanent residence, while the barn was transformed into a venue for lavish parties. The extensive south-facing gardens, lovingly maintained over the years, have earned the property the nickname 'A Riviera Garden in Norfolk,' and continue to reflect the beauty and elegance of the original design.
Designed as an upside-down house, Appletree Barn features ground floor accommodations with four well-appointed bedrooms, including a luxurious master suite with stunning saltmarsh views. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated in muted tones, providing a serene atmosphere, and is equipped with high-quality linens. The master bedroom offers an en-suite shower room, while the other rooms share a Jack and Jill family bathroom. A convenient utility room completes the ground floor, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests.
On the first floor, the spacious open-plan living area is bathed in natural light and includes a bespoke kitchen equipped with modern appliances, perfect for preparing meals with local ingredients. The dining area accommodates eight guests, while the adjacent sitting area features a cozy L-shaped sofa and a wood-burning stove for warmth and ambiance. Unique to the property is a turret lookout tower, ideal for wildlife observation. Outside, the shared swimming pool and tennis court are available seasonally, and ample parking is provided. Appletree Barn also offers a smaller option for four guests, making it a versatile choice for various group sizes.
