Region: From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Town: On the east coast, just north of Saltburn, is the coastal community of Redcar. Its miles-long, golden-sand beaches extend in the direction of Saltburn Bay. The promenade is the ideal place to relax while watching local fishermen bring in their haul for the day, and you might want to try Redcar's renowned lemon top ice cream, which Prince Charles enjoyed during one of his numerous visits. Visit the lifeboat museum, where you can see the "Zetland," which was built in 1802 and is thought to be the oldest lifeboat in the world, as well as the 80-foot-tall vertical pier "Redcar's Beacon," which offers breathtaking views. Take a leisurely stroll while admiring the spectacular view of the coastline and cliffs along The Stray, a 2-mile stretch of grassland that connects Redcar and Marske to the southeast. A short drive away, in the well-known Victorian village of Saltburn, there are numerous charming tea houses, excellent restaurants, and intriguing boutiques. Take the cliff lift, which descended 120 feet for the first time on June 28, 1884, and is said to be the UK's oldest operating funicular railway. The only remaining example is on the north east coast, and it is located at the lower promenade. After passing through the scenic valley gardens, you may reach the town. The South York Moors are home to numerous walking trails, the Danby Moors Exhibition Centre, and the bustling market town of Helmsley, which is home to the remains of a Norman castle. Redcar makes a great starting point for exploring various attractions.

Located in Redcar, this vacation home is on the beach. Zetland Lifeboat Museum and Kirkleatham Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Kirkleatham Owl Centre and Teesside Autodrome. Rockantics and Wild Animal Adventures are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling, rock climbing, and hiking/biking trails nearby.
