One of the standout features of Rock Cottage is its breathtaking views of Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, visible from the first floor. The surrounding area is teeming with captivating footpaths and dramatic trails, providing ample opportunities for outdoor adventures right from the doorstep. After a day of exploration, guests can conveniently store their walking gear in an outside storeroom, and take a moment to relax on the garden bench located by the front porch, reflecting on their day's escapades while enjoying the tranquil surroundings.
The cottage is ideally situated for discovering the charming towns, villages, and countryside of the Lake District, whether by car or public transport. Upon arrival, guests can park in one of the private off-road spaces and make their way to the inviting sitting room, adorned with an authentic flag floor and traditional deeply-set windows. The original Victorian range adds to the cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a journey. The shaker-style kitchen is equipped with contemporary appliances, allowing guests to prepare delightful family meals at the cottage-style dining table, where they can also plan their next day's activities.
As the day winds down, guests can retreat to the first floor, where two spacious double bedrooms await, one featuring an en-suite shower room for added convenience. A separate WC is located on a half landing, and a family bathroom with a bath and shower overhead provides additional amenities. For larger groups, the top floor family room is a delightful space, featuring three single beds nestled within a pitched ceiling adorned with cruck beams and a Velux window, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for a restful night's sleep.
