Fallow Folly, a luxurious retreat located in Little Massingham, Norfolk, offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. Nestled within seventeen acres of secluded parkland, the property is surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, including friendly deer that frequently visit the grounds. The accommodation features a beautifully converted stable and hayloft, providing a comfortable stay for up to seven guests. Guests can indulge in a range of recreational facilities, including a ten-metre indoor swimming pool, a six-person sauna, a tarmac tennis court, and a pétanque court, all designed to enhance the experience of relaxation and entertainment.
Dating back to the 1880s, Fallow Folly retains many of its original features, which have been carefully preserved or restored to create an authentic atmosphere. The interior boasts a large open-plan kitchen and dining area, highlighted by a striking exposed flint wall and a double-height vaulted ceiling that floods the space with natural light. The Indian stone flooring provides a cool touch in the summer while remaining cozy in winter thanks to the underfloor heating. The ambiance is further enhanced by low-level lamp lighting and a stunning hand-crafted antler chandelier, making it an ideal setting for memorable dinners. The ground floor also includes two beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, ensuring comfort and privacy for guests.
On the upper level, a spacious living room features oak beams and picturesque views of the parkland, creating a serene environment for relaxation. The luxurious master bedroom, complete with a Juliet balcony and a super-king-sized bed, offers a lavish escape, while the double-ended slipper bath adds an extra touch of indulgence. Fallow Folly is part of the Hill Farm Barns complex, which includes additional properties that can be booked individually or together to accommodate larger groups of up to 31 people, making it suitable for families or gatherings of friends.
Equipped with a well-appointed kitchen featuring modern appliances such as a range cooker, Nespresso coffee machine, and wine cooler, Fallow Folly caters to all culinary needs. A separate utility room provides ample space for laundry and storage, perfect for beach gear after a day at the nearby Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests can also enjoy a short walk to the local gastro-pub, The Dabbling Duck, for a taste of regional cuisine. It is important to note that dogs must be kept on leads due to the presence of deer, and while the pool and sauna are shared facilities, each property is allocated specific times for use, ensuring a relaxing experience for all visitors.
