Set in the east of the Lake District National Park, this beautiful Barn is the perfect home away from home. The spacious property is located in the small conservation village of Helton, just over a mile from Askham with its shop, two pubs, heated outdoor swimming pool and the Michelin starred restaurant at Askham Hall. There are numerous walks and cycle tracks to enjoy from right outside the door, with Ullswater 3.5 miles away by foot where a day can be spent on the water either hiring a kayak or enjoying the picturesque surroundings on a gentle cruise on one of the Ullswater Steamers. Haweswater is also close by (4.5 miles), as are excellent high level walking routes at High Street (8 miles) and Helvellyn (13 miles). Nearby attractions include Lowther Castle and Gardens, Aira Force and Dalemain House (all within 12 miles). The property, with its attractive sandstone exterior, offers an abundance of space. The lounge/dining area is the hub of the house with a wood burner in each, beamed ceilings and open views across the Lowther Valley. Curl up in the lounge on one of two four seater sofas, in front of the wood burner and Smart TV perfect for a family movie night. A large oak table and chairs to seat eight dominates the dining room with a second wood burner and a door out to the patio. A traditional kitchen houses an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Adjacent is the utility room with a washing machine, dishwasher and WC plus plenty of hanging space for coats and muddy boots after a day s walking. The master bedroom with king size bed and built in units is on the ground floor as is the bathroom with shower, freestanding bath and WC. Up on the first floor are three bright bedrooms one with a king size bed and fitted units, a twin room, and a single room. Another shower room with shower and WC is on this floor. Many rooms in the accommodation require a couple of steps up or steps down. Stunning views can be enjoyed from the south facing enclosed garden. There are lawned areas for the kids and your four legged friend to enjoy. The patio with sofa dining set offers a beautiful spot to sit back, relax and enjoy the views with a coffee or glass of wine. There is parking directly outside for four cars.
