Finding Peach Cottage snuggled at the end of a hidden pathway will fill you with delight. It is a fabulously secluded location, make sure you take a moment to breathe in the silence. This grade II listed cottage has retained some of its original features with wooden beams, decorative fireplaces, a wood burner, and stone flooring. It is wonderfully light and the kitchen/diner really brings the outside in with two doors and a large window by the dining table. The range cooker is waiting to be used for lavish family roast dinners with all the trimmings.
The snug and living room are cosy and comfortable with a wood burning stove in the larger room adding its gentle crackle to evenings spent enjoying a glass of wine. Each room has a choice of sofas you can sink in to and you may find you never want to leave these relaxing spots. Upstairs the bedrooms beckon you in with their crisp white décor and luxurious bedding to ensure you wake up feeling rested so you can make the most of your time in this Cotswold countryside cottage.
Outside, the garden is split into three areas. A gravelled patio curls around the side with two seating areas to choose from and a raised lawn where you can spread out with a good book in the sunshine. You can also take advantage of the herbs and apples growing here if you visit at the right time of year. You are only a short walk from the Falcon Inn which must be visited for a meal and from Poulton you can explore many sights of the Cotswolds. Historic Cirencester, picture perfect Bibury and Cotswold Water Park are all minutes away from your front door.
Ground Floor
Kitchen/Diner:
Overlooking the garden, the kitchen/diner makes the most of the light with two doors opening to bring in the summer breeze. You will feel at home cooking meals on the range which can be served at the dining table here or outside on the patio. With a dishwasher to avoid washing up arguments, lots of storage space, a fridge/freezer and a large central island this kitchen is a dream come true.
Utility with Cloakroom:
In the utility are your laundry facilities and you will find outdoor seat cushions stored here as well. There is also a handy WC and sink in this room.
Snug:
Snuggle up on the sofa in front of the TV and enjoy a film in this comfortable room. Wooden beams create a cosy atmosphere with a decorative lantern in the old fireplace alcove.
Living Room:
The main living room has an old stone floor and two sofas to choose from. This room is perfect for sharing a drink in front of the wood burning fire to the soundtrack of laughter and conversation. Shuttered windows, wooden beams and carefully chosen accessories make this a homely room. The external door is only to be used in emergencies.
First Floor
The stairs up to the first floor are fairly steep with a narrow tread, please take care and use the handrail. There are two additional steps onto the wooden landing leading to bedrooms two and three and the bathroom and shower room.
Bedroom One:
This master bedroom has a decorative stone fireplace alongside the wooden king-size bed. A sage green wall is a contrast to the white wood panelling and there is a large mirror, chest of drawers and some hanging space for clothes.
Bathroom:
Off the landing is the first bathroom with a bath with a hand-held shower, WC and sink. This room has restricted height above the bath and no shower curtain making it unsuitable for a full shower. The window above lets in light and it is ideally positioned for each of the bedrooms.
Shower Room:
Next door to the bathroom is the shower room with shower, WC and sink. These two rooms and the ground floor WC provide great facilities for guests.
Bedroom Two:
The second bedroom has a double bed snuggled between the sloped ceilings making it a cosy retreat. There are chairs used as bedside tables, each with their own lamp and a wooden chest of drawers for storage.
Bedroom Three:
The final bedroom is a twin providing some flexibility to the sleeping arrangements. Looking out over the lovely garden it is a sunny room and there is a chest of drawers and bedside table shared between the beds.
Outside
You will find yourselves spending a lot of time outside while on holiday here. The garden has been split to have two patio areas, one with the spacious dining table and chairs and the other with benches for lazing. There is a charcoal BBQ for summer feasts filling the air with the tantalising smell of grilled burgers. The raised lawn gives space for sunbathing, and you can watch the birds flit amongst the trees. There is a small herb garden and two apple trees which guests can take advantage of in season, but watch out for the wasps as they also love the apples! Accessed along a hidden pathway, you are set back from the street undisturbed by the sound of passing cars.
This cottage is located in Cirencester. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Cotswolds and Neigh Bridge Country Park, while Corinium Museum and Bristol Aero Collectlon are cultural highlights. Combat Splat and Lakeside Ski & Wake are also worth visiting.
