Edington Lodge, a charming holiday cottage located in the picturesque village of Edington, Somerset, is designed to accommodate up to six guests. This property, which features three bedrooms and is pet-friendly, is ideally situated for those attending the Glastonbury Festival and is nestled at the foot of the scenic Polden Hills. With convenient access to both the North and South Coasts, visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as surfing, sailing, and cycling. The cottage also boasts proximity to the Shapwick Heath, Catcott, and Westhay Nature Reserves, which are rich in history and natural beauty, including the earliest known track in Europe dating back to around 4000 BC.

Originally built in the 15th century, Edington Lodge has been tastefully decorated and furnished, maintaining many of its original character features, such as blue lias stone walls and exposed beams. A notable highlight is a covered well located in the ground floor bedroom. The cottage is attached to a main house but offers a private entrance, making it an ideal space for family gatherings or friendly get-togethers. Local attractions include the iconic Glastonbury Tor and Abbey, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views and explore historical sites.

The Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve, located nearby, provides a diverse range of habitats, making it a haven for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts. From November to February, the reserve is particularly famous for its spectacular murmuration of starlings. With around 64 bird species nesting in the area, including Cettiā€™s warbler and great-crested grebes, as well as a variety of dragonflies and butterflies, the reserve offers a rich tapestry of wildlife to observe throughout the seasons.

In addition to its natural attractions, Edington Lodge is conveniently located near the vibrant towns of Glastonbury and Street, where guests can indulge in retail therapy at The Clarks Village and enjoy local dining options. The charming city of Wells, with its historic cathedral and nearby attractions like Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, is just a short drive away. With a wealth of activities including bird watching, cycling, and local cider tasting, as well as amenities such as a village shop and pub within walking distance, Edington Lodge presents a delightful getaway for all types of travelers seeking to explore the beauty of Somerset.
