A beautifully presented home from home in Ulpha, near Broughton-in-Furness. Church House, which accommodates up to 6 guests, is situated near to the picturesque River Duddon, on in an idyllic corner of the Lake District.
Dating back to 1706, Church House has been lovingly renovated to provide a spacious family-friendly holiday retreat. Nestling in this remote and tranquil location, an abundance of wildlife can be seen and walks for all levels start from the front door.
Inside the cottage, original beams, slate and wooden floors feature as part of the properties period features. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, one double and two twin rooms, plus separate a family bathroom with bath, shower, WC and bidet. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room, ideal for family gatherings, with wood burner, smart TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs for a cosy night in. Church House features a fully fitted kitchen, including all modern amenities, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher plus an additional separate utility room with sink, washing machine/dryer and WC.
A games room is adjacent to, and shared with, Church House Cottage. This includes table tennis, table football, and a pool table.
Both properties can be booked together for larger groups of up to 11 and can be booked via Church House and Church House Cottage at Finest Retreats.
This beautiful area is home to abundant wildlife including buzzards, Ravens, Peregrines and deer. The Duddon valley will delight walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. The tiny hamlets of Ulpha and Seathwaite are two focal points of the valley. Seathwaite, situated near the end of the ancient Walna Scar track, boasts the 16th century Newfield Inn where good home-cooked food, real ales and a warm welcome await all day, all year.
The wood burner in the dining room should not be lit, and is only for decorative use. Mobile phones do not work in the valley, a landline phone can be used in the property and Wi-Fi is included.

Brantwood and Go Ape Grizedale are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Lake District National Park and St Bees Head. South Lakes Safari Zoo and Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway are also worth visiting.
