The rural village of Ewyas Harold is situated close to the Welsh Borders and is well served with an excellent village shop, first rate fish and chip shop, high class butcher and several inns. Guests are spoilt for choice with walking routes and pony trekking across the Black Mountains. Offa s Dyke trail is also accessible nearby and offers spectacular views. Enjoy canoeing along the River Wye. Further afield lies the Brecon Beacons with rock climbing and serious hiking available for the more adventurous. Monmouthshire offers stunning river walks, rolling hills and a selection of fine castles. Also within easy reach are the vibrant market towns of Abergavenny for the weekly farmers' market and Hay on Wye, internationally renowned for the literary festival. Not forgetting both Crickhowell and Grosmont which are steeped in history and have plenty of castles to explore. The farmhouse sits within mature gardens within the heart of the village. Step inside the spacious porch where you can remove muddy boots after a day of exploring. A further door gives access to the lounge where you can sink into the large leather sofas and enjoy a movie on the TV, or challenge each other to one of the many board games. Across from the lounge is a snug, a perfect retreat where you can light the wood burner and enjoy a chapter of a good book. The kitchen/diner can be accessed from both rooms. A spacious room that is perfect for entertaining, the kitchen has been finished with a contemporary twist, offering an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. There is a breakfast bar and island with bar stools for a morning coffee. For dining, there is a large table and chairs for guests to get together for a hearty supper. For some winter sun, you can enjoy lounging in the garden room which also offers access onto the gardens. There is a further lobby to the rear, which is great for storing coats and boots, with access to a ground floor WC and washing machine. When the sun goes down, climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find three beautifully finished bedrooms. There's a king size bedroom with garden views and a vanity sink, a king size with garden views and vanity sinks, and a twin room. There is a bathroom where you can relax and soak in the claw foot bath, plus there is a separate rainwater shower and WC. Also on this floor is a shower room with shower and WC. If you're seeking peace and quiet, the landing is spacious with a chaise lounge and reading lamp. Outside, guests have access to mature gardens to the front of the farmhouse; here you can relax and watch village life go by. To the side of the farmhouse is a further garden with a large table and chairs and charcoal BBQ. There is ample off road parking and storage for bikes.
