Coniston (5 miles), Ambleside (14 miles) and Windermere (17 miles) offer the perfect family day out. Step inside the side door of this charming property where contemporary creature comforts enhance the old world style with charming country style furnishings and period features. You ll find a family bathroom and a bedroom on the ground floor with twin beds and a set of bunk beds, plus a double bedroom near the dining room. Family meals are a pleasure with the well equipped kitchen featuring an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Tuck into delicious regional produce in the dining area, set into a beautiful bay window, and enjoy the views. Head upstairs and unwind in the bright and airy living room with an open fire surrounded by an original stone (first basket of logs included), where there s also a TV with DVD player, a SoundDock, board games and toys for your entertainment. French doors lead out from the living room to a balcony with garden views. And there s a beautiful king size bedroom, plus a separate WC, completing the accommodation. Outside, you ll find a private terraced garden with seating and a summer BBQ; a shallow natural water course runs through the garden (please be mindful of young children). There s a rocky outcrop and plenty of space for den building. There s a short woodland walk with direct access to a private lakeside area on Coniston Water, shared only with properties on site. Enjoy messing about on the water with the Canadian canoes, available for guests use (buoyancy aids are provided, canoeing is at own risk).
