Located 4 miles from Bassenthwaite village and 9 miles from the market town of Keswick and Derwentwater Lake. Drive through fields of sheep and the most stunning scenery, 1 mile from the main road. Once you arrive, park up and you won t want to get in your car again until the end of your stay. This is a walkers and climbers paradise, with around 16 Wainwrights accessible straight from your door. The property was the setting used for the film Supa Nova, starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci. Keswick hosts the annual mountain festival, which is held over three days with world class sports, lots of outdoor activities, talks, films, and live music events which take place beside the lake. Enjoy kayaking or canoeing on Derwentwater or visit Mirehouse and gardens, the North Lakes Animal Park, or the Lakes Distillery for a great day out (all within 5 miles). Entering this traditional farmhouse from the back entrance, you will step down a couple of steps into the cosy kitchen. The ground floor of the property has underfloor heating throughout. There is an Aga range style cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and microwave. The kitchen opens into the formal dining room with a large table to accommodate the whole party, a feature fireplace and views across Skiddaw. Across the hallway which has a pretty traditional tiled floor, you will find the spacious and comfortable lounge. There is a cosy open fire to curl up in front of after a day of exploring, a TV, DVD player, and an iPod docking station. Head back through the hallway and at the bottom of the stairs, you will find a utility/drying room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Off the utility room is a useful wet room with a shower and WC, this area is perfect to wash and dry off your wet gear. Head up the stone staircase to the first floor, where you will find the family bathroom with bath, shower, and WC. There are three spacious, beautifully furnished bedrooms to choose from, two doubles and a twin. Head outside to the large enclosed front garden which is accessed from the front door through the hallway, with seating and views across to Skiddaw, White Water Dash Falls, and Bassenthwaite Lake. There is private parking for up to four cars.
