The picturesque village of Blockley nestled into a charming valley remains unspoiled it s clever mix of stone cottages, surrounding countryside and meandering mill stream all creating the perfect backdrop for a stay in the Cotswolds. This vibrant village with traditional inns and village store offers easy access further into the Cotswolds with many places of interest to explore to include Stow on the Wold, Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Bourton on the Water and Burford. Further afield the historic town of Stratford upon Avon Shakespeare s birth place and Cheltenham home to the literature and food festival and The Gold Cup. More local attractions include Chastleton House and Gardens, The Cotswold Farm Park, Birdland, Hidcote Manor, Daylesford organic farm shop and Chedworth Roman Villas. Step through the gate into the walled garden with a babbling brook at your feet. The entrance hall provides the perfect space for walking boots and coats, giving access to the contemporary kitchen/diner a great space for entertaining. The kitchen, designed with a chef in mind and is well equipped with twin electric ovens and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, the granite work tops providing a breakfast bar and social area. The dining area is well positioned with seating for six and has bi folding doors that open onto the gardens. There is a utility room with washing machine, a separate tumble dryer and WC located further down the hall. The hallway offers access to the lounge, a real showcase for the architectural design of the cottage with vaulted ceiling, wood burner and TV/DVD, the windows offering glimpses of the brook and the gardens, a perfect retreat to relax in after a day exploring with Bi fold doors that open out onto the patio. When the night creeps in follow the staircase to an open landing where you will find a king size bedroom and bathroom with a bath and WC. A further staircase leads to a twin bedroom and separate WC. Across the garden is a detached annex, with vaulted ceiling and open plan mezzanine in a contemporary design. The ground floor has been furnished with a sofa, arm chair and a delightful floor to ceiling window looking out onto the brook. Sit in the window and watch the trout feed just below your feet. There is also a wetroom with shower and WC on this floor. A staircase leads to a mezzanine king size zip and link bedroom (which can be made into a twin on request). Heading outside, enjoy the enclosed gardens with patio areas directly outside the cottage and next to the babbling brook, the sun bathes this area creating an ideal place to sit, relax and enjoy. the perfect sun trap with table and chairs along with a charcoal BBQ. There is unrestricted roadside parking. 2 dogs welcome at the property.
