The village of Eskdale Green is handily located for exploring thanks to the Japanese Gardens on its doorstep and easy access to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Board the train and venture to the estuary town of Ravenglass 6 miles away to investigate the pretty harbour and the beach, rounding off with a delicious meal and a glass of wine at sunset. Further afield, the tranquil Wastwater lake 5 miles away offers stunning walks and marvellous views as well as a brilliant spot for trying wild swimming.
