Around the corner you will find Wordsworth House and Gardens and the main street with its independent shops, bakers, book stores and cafes. There is a brewery just a few minutes walk away which offers tours where you can sample traditional ales. Close by are the Northern Fells, Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater where you can sail and kayak. For bike enthusiasts, Whinlatter has some great bike tracks. The Roman fort of Deventio can be found just a mile away at Papcastle, you can walk here from the town. As you enter the house into the hallway you will find the lounge/diner which offers a comfortable retreat to relax at the end of a day walking. It has a contemporary style and a homely feel with a round dining table which is perfect to eat together and catch up or plan for the next day. There is a Smart TV and electric fire in the lounge. Along the hallway you will find the kitchen, it is well equipped with a double oven, microwave oven, induction hob and large American style fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Off the kitchen there is a lovely sunroom with bench style seating along the window with views over the river. There is also a useful utility room off the kitchen with washing machine and tumble dryer and next door is the bathroom with bath, shower over the bath and WC. Heading upstairs to the first floor, you will find a pretty king size bedroom with views over the river, a small double and a larger more spacious double bedroom next door. There is a small outside courtyard with seating overlooking the river, it is accessed from the sunroom off the kitchen. It is a suntrap in the early morning and is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast or a coffee. There is parking on the street outside the house for one car, the street is narrow and the parking is not exclusive to the property. There is an additional private car parking space for one car, 2 minutes walk away and there is also a nearby car park (500m) away.
