Nearby Simpson Ground Tarn, a reservoir set amongst small woodland, is only a mile and a half away and makes for an easy walk for a waterside picnic. A short car ride will bring you to iconic Lake Windermere and the River Leven, where you ll find the villages of Newby Bridge, Lakeside, Finsthwaite and Backbarrow, offering a selection of cafes, galleries, shops and boat trips. Or travel west with a 20 minute drive to the Victorian seaside town of Grange over Sands and the historic village of Cartmel. Step through the old oak front door into the welcoming sitting room. With exposed ceiling beams and a stone fireplace with roaring wood burner, this lovely room has been dressed with comfortable sofas, cosy soft furnishings. Outside, the garden is a charming mix of planting, patio and natural rock. A table and chairs offers al fresco dining while a chiminea is perfect for those chilly evenings.
