Hafod y Llyn Cottage, nestled in the scenic hills of Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, offers a unique retreat for up to five guests. This charming hilltop cottage is set within 30 acres of privately owned mountain woodland, providing breathtaking views of the Rhinog and Manod mountain ranges. Guests can enjoy the tranquility of nature from the cottage's verandah, which is equipped with a table and chairs, and embark on wonderful walks right from their doorstep. The location is also conveniently close to a swimming lake and the Ffestiniog Railway's request stop, making it an ideal base for exploring the beauty of the surrounding area.

Rich in character, Hafod y Llyn has been lovingly maintained by its owners, Noelle and Richard, for over thirty years. The interior features an array of charming old furniture, rugs, and original artwork by Noelle, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cottage overlooks the picturesque Vale of Ffestiniog, renowned for its stunning wooded valleys, offering ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as walking, bird watching, and mountain biking. Additionally, the nearby swimming lake and Plas Halt request stop of the Ffestiniog Railway further enhance the appeal of this idyllic location.

Dog owners are welcome to bring one pet to the cottage, with specific guidelines to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests. Owners are advised to bring their dog's bedding and towels, and to ensure their pet does not go on the furniture or is left unattended in the cottage. Inside, the cottage boasts a cozy living area with two sofas, two chairs, and a wood-burning stove, complemented by panoramic views of the surrounding woodland and mountains from the living room and two double bedrooms. Although bed linen can be provided for an additional fee, guests should note that towels are not included.

Access to Hafod y Llyn Cottage involves a 3/4 mile journey along a steep, narrow, and rough track, which may not be suitable for unconfident drivers or low-slung vehicles. The area is fenced to keep grazing cows away from the cottage and parking area, with a woodland pasture scheme initiated in 2020 aimed at enhancing local wildlife habitats. Set within the stunning landscape of Eryri National Park and close to attractions like Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways and Zip World Llechwedd, this cottage offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure for families and nature enthusiasts alike.
