Accessing Hafod Cottage involves a 3/4 mile journey along a steep and narrow track, which is manageable for most vehicles, excluding low-slung sports cars. Guests are advised to contact the owners if they plan to bring a camper van, as the railway crossing limits the width and length of vehicles. Additionally, there are steps leading down to the cottage, and it is powered by a combination of mains electricity and renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power.
