Situated in a former boat yard, the cottage is less than a 5 minute walk from the picturesque waterfront and quayside, affording superb coastal views across to Instow. The village has great charm with interesting art galleries, restaurants, chandlers, post office and several character pubs serving excellent meals. Fresh fish may be purchased on the quay, and fishing and boat trips are easily arranged, in season. The three mile surf-washed sandy beach of Westward Ho! and the Elizabethan port of Bideford with all town amenities are each within a ten minute drive, with the historic fishing villages around Clovelly and miles of magnificent National Trust coast paths a short drive beyond.
The cottage has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard with a quality contemporary finish, including solid oak and bamboo flooring throughout. Accommodation is very comfortably furnished and well equipped with colour co-ordinated furnishings and decor, and benefits from gas full central heating. Three first class ground floor bedrooms - double with stable door to rear courtyard, fitted mirrored wardrobes with security safe and TV with integral DVD. Further double bedroom, and cosy single bedroom. High quality fully tiled bathroom/wc with halogen lighting, power shower over bath, ladder radiator, trough style handbasin and under-floor heating. All living areas are within a stylish open-plan environment on the first floor, to take advantage of some distant estuary views, and incorporate: Delightful living room, with shag-pile carpeting, large comfy sofas, remote-controlled wall mounted log effect electric fire, TV, DVD, micro system with CD/radio, iPod dock, Play Station 2 including a selection of games. Delightful dining area, with oak suite, and fully fitted kitchen off, with oak units, breakfast bar for four, elec hob + extractor, all within central workstation, elec fan oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Rear brick-paved sun trap courtyard, totally private, and fully enclosed with garden furniture and barbecue for al fresco meals - also an ideal area for surfboard/bike storage. Front courtyard with car parking for one large car - occasionally shared with the detached house next door. Additional free roadside parking 50yds or weekly tickets available for car park within 100 yds - October - April 30th free.
