Its prime location opposite Margam Abbey at the end of a quiet no-through road allows guests to enjoy free access to Margam Country Park through a private locked gate within the walled garden. This access remains available even when the park is closed to the public, granting guests the opportunity to explore the park's numerous attractions, including a historic Victorian Castle, a 17th-century orangery, and various recreational facilities.

The local area is rich in natural beauty and outdoor activities, featuring spectacular waterfalls, scenic countryside, and the Aberavon seafront. For adventure enthusiasts, world-class mountain biking can be found at Afan Forest Park, while the traditional seaside resort of Porthcawl is just six miles away. Additionally, both the stunning Gower Peninsula and the vibrant city of Cardiff are a mere 30-minute drive from the cottage, making it an ideal base for exploring the diverse offerings of South Wales. Upon entering the cottage, guests are welcomed into a homely atmosphere, starting with a spacious and well-equipped kitchen that features modern appliances, including an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and a Lavazza coffee machine, complete with a sample of coffee capsules. Adjacent to the kitchen is a cozy lounge area, highlighted by a warming wood burner, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. The lounge leads into a sunroom currently utilized as a dining area, which boasts patio doors that open onto a lovely external walled patio area, enhancing the indoor-outdoor living experience.

Ascending to the upper level, guests will find a gallery landing that connects to a well-appointed bathroom, a single bedroom, and two additional bedrooms—a twin and a king-size—each beautifully decorated and offering views of either the front property or the tranquil walled patio area. Outside, the private patio and walled garden provide an ideal setting for relaxation, complete with seating and a BBQ area, perfect for enjoying the sunset.
