Cottage In Gosforth, Cumbria

Gosforth, Cumbria

5

Nestled in the bustling village of Gosforth on the western side of the Lake District National Park. There are lots of low level walks around the village, and the seaside just a few miles down the road. The pub boasts a couple of pubs as well as a lovely pizza restaurant. Serious fell walkers are also spoilt for choice with the stunning valleys of Wasdale and Eskdale. At the head of these lies the mighty Scafell Range, along with Great Gable and Bow Fell all within 10 miles. Why not try your hand at stand up paddle boarding on Wastwater or kayak down the crystal clear River Esk (both within 8 miles). For history buffs the village and its surroundings is an absolute treasure trove. From the Viking cross in Gosforth's churchyard to Muncaster Castle, which is just 6 miles away, there's something of interest for all ages. On arrival at the property guests enter the house via the back door, which opens into the kitchen. There's a utility area to the right with a washer/dryer and a handy downstairs WC. The kitchen itself has modern units and is equipped with a large fridge/freezer, microwave, fan oven with gas hob. There's a breakfast table in here as well as all the crockery and cutlery you're likely to need during your stay. The other room on the ground floor is the living dining room. It's a delightful light, open space with wooden flooring, a dining table and chairs, two large brown leather sofas, a TV and a DVD player for which the owners have thoughtfully left some discs for your use. Alternatively, you can just watch the bustle of village life from the large sash window. On the first floor you'll find the three bedrooms and a family bathroom. Firstly, to the master bedroom with its double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, which has a lovely sash window looking out to the front of the house. Secondly to the twin room (this can be made into a super king upon request), which has a wardrobe and drawers as well as velux windows drenching the room in light. Lastly the cosy single room, which has a built in wardrobe and a view to the front of the house. The light, spacious family bathroom is also on the first floor: this has a bath as well as a separate shower enclosure. Moving outside, the property benefits from a gravelled driveway which can accommodate parking for two cars and the back garden with an arbour covered patio for outdoor dining. There are pubs, shops and restaurants within 500 yards from the property in the village.
