Pillar, High Stile and Great Borne all lie within 9 miles of your door and are lovely walks with plenty of scenic picnic spots along the way. Just 8 miles away at St Bees is the start of the Coast to Coast walk. Hike a section and take in the gorgeous views or jump in the pool for a refreshing wild dip. If you re a fan of Wordsworth, his birth town Cockermouth, is an 11 mile trip and you can wander the ancient market town and it s pretty streets which are dotted with shops and pubs. A wonderful home for a family getaway or time with friends, this home sleeps five guests over three rooms. Step inside and leave coats and boots in the utility cupboard before making your way further inside this inviting abode. Head straight for the kitchen and pop the kettle on for a welcoming brew. Flooded with natural light and with all you need to cook up feasts, the kitchen has a dishwasher so you can enjoy a tipple or two after dinner instead of washing up. The coffee machine is a great addition and helps kick start those early mornings. There is also an electric double oven and hob, microwave, and large fridge/freezer. Step through to the open plan lounge/diner where there is plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind. Throw a log in the wood burner or open the French doors and choose a spot on the sofa where you can enjoy a book, catch up on the day s events or switch on the TV/DVD with Freeview. If you feel like getting competitive, challenge fellow guests to a board game or two before heading upstairs to bed. There is also a handy WC on the ground floor. On the first floor, a pair of double rooms and a single room all boast lovely views reaching over Cragg, Bowness Fells and Salter and Kirkland between them so you can enjoy a peaceful night s sleep and rise and shine feeling refreshed and ready to get outside. Freshen up in the family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC before heading downstairs. With luscious gardens in front and behind the property, follow the sun and spend fresh mornings and balmy evenings outside. The front garden is enclosed, making it safe for little ones to roam free, whilst the rear garden is unenclosed with a few steps, but has somewhere to sit and bask in the sun. If you ve brought your bikes, keep them safe in the shed. Great for unloading your bags and jumping in the car to explore, parking is for two cars at the rear of the property and parking at the front for one car, this is a shared parking area with the other cottages.
