If you are looking for a characterful fisherman’s cottage in the heart of Whitby’s old town, this 17th-century cottage built in 1640 welcomes you with a heritage stay by the coast.. Ground Floor:
12 steps to entrance.

Kitchen: With electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge.. Second Floor:
Bedroom 1: With single bed and double bed.

Bedroom 2: With double bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. . Enclosed front garden with patio. No smoking. . Awd Tut’s cottage gets its name from the former resident – Old Tom, a fisherman living in the 1800s. Dating back almost four-hundred years, this little cottage still retains its old-world charm.
Once in danger of being torn down after becoming empty and derelict, a modern-day descendent of Awd Tut lovingly restored the cottage and gave it a whole new lease of life. This is now a beautiful cottage where you can create happy memories of your time at the coast. Tucked away down a little ghaut off the ever-popular cobbled Church Street. Just outside your front gate, you can see the harbour beckoning you. Tate Hill Sands is only around the corner. Steps lead you up to the entrance of the main cottage, where you step into the cosy open-plan living area, with sofas around the TV as well as a well-equipped kitchen and fold-out dining table beneath a beamed ceiling. Upstairs on the first floor, you have a family bedroom with a double as well as a single bed, the main bathroom is also on this floor. On the top floor with views over the rooftops, you have the master double bedroom with its own en-suite power shower.
Whitby is the perfect destination for anyone looking to explore the Yorkshire coast. There are some wonderful hiking trails where you can discover nearby beauty spots, the Cleveland Way along the cliff tops and the Cinder Track from Whitby to Scarborough are some of the most popular routes. There are also regular buses or even the steam train in the summer to visit destinations across the North York Moors, as well as coastal villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes. There is always something happening in Whitby, from Goth festivals to live music and regattas. Keep an eye on the busy year-round calendar to see what’s happening during your holiday. Enjoy some award-winning fish and chips, join the surf school, or take a boat trip out for maybe a glimpse of the dolphins and seals that frequent our coastline. There is lots to see and do.

Located in Whitby, this cottage is on a river. Captain Cook Memorial Museum and Whitby Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Whitby Pavilion and Whitby Abbey. Museum of Victorian Science and The Moors National Park Centre are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as fishing and other activities like golfing.
