This unique property is situated on a private country estate that spans 10 acres, providing breathtaking views of Loch Lomond, its islands, and the surrounding mountains. The Lorn Mill, a traditional Scottish farm steading, has been meticulously restored by the same family for three decades, ensuring both historical charm and modern comfort. Guests can enjoy exclusive access to a private tennis court, which boasts stunning vistas that might distract from the game.
The approach to Vorlich Cottage is through a serene wooded track, leading to an inviting entrance where guests can hang coats and leave boots. Inside, the open-plan kitchen and dining room is fully equipped with modern appliances, including an oven, hob, and dishwasher, alongside a round dining table that accommodates six. A garden door opens to an outdoor tiled area ideal for al fresco dining, with easy access to the expansive garden and tennis court. The downstairs bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements, featuring either a king-sized double or twin beds, and is complemented by an ensuite shower room with modern amenities.
Ascending the staircase from the entrance hall leads to a cozy upstairs sitting room, adorned with a log-burning stove and large windows that offer sweeping views of the garden, tennis court, mountains, and glimpses of Loch Lomond. This room is perfect for relaxing evenings, complete with a TV, DVD player, and a selection of games and books. The second ensuite bedroom also features a king-sized bed and an ensuite shower room, ensuring comfort and privacy for guests. The entire cottage has been recently refurbished, showcasing warm colors, new flooring, and original artwork, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Vorlich Cottage is ideally located for exploring the natural beauty of the area, with numerous walking paths leading directly from the property. Guests can enjoy leisurely strolls to the Loch shore or venture into nearby Balloch, which offers a range of amenities including a railway station with direct access to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The surrounding region is rich in attractions, with opportunities for day trips to Glen Coe, Oban, and Fort William, as well as visits to local castles, distilleries, and galleries. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with welcome goodies and fresh flowers, and the owners are eager to ensure a memorable stay. Please note that the cottage is closed during Christmas and New Year, and no pets are allowed. In peak summer weeks, only weekly bookings are accepted, highlighting the cottage's popularity among returning guests.
