Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
Town: Despite being only 13 miles from Keswick, the sleepy agricultural market town of Cockermouth is located in the peaceful northwest region of the Lake District. The National Trust presently operates Wordsworth's Georgian family home on the main street, which is a well-liked tourist destination. The town is well-known for being the birthplace of both Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and William Wordsworth. Cockermouth has a nice selection of stores, bars, and restaurants, but (obviously) the area's major draw is the stunning scenery and fantastic hiking in the northern lakes, including Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water, and Derwent Water.
Located in Cockermouth, this mobile home is in a rural area and on a river. Castlegate House Gallery and Cumberland Pencil Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Amethyst Health and Beauty and Catbells Lakeland Walk. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Newlands Adventure Centre or Keswick Climbing Wall. Discover the area's water adventures with fishing nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with hiking/biking trails and cycling.
