Guilsfield, Glamorgan

4

Located in the picturesque village of Guilsfield, Glamorgan, this charming converted stable offers a delightful retreat for up to four guests. Adjoining a historic farmhouse that dates back to around 1650, the cottage boasts a striking traditional aesthetic, featuring cozy elements like a log fire and exposed wooden beams. Its serene and secluded setting provides a perfect escape while still being just three miles from the bustling market town of Welshpool, where visitors can explore a variety of shops, restaurants, and pubs, as well as enjoy leisure activities along the canal.

The cottage is designed to accommodate families and friends, with two bedrooms comprising one double and a full-size bunk bed. The ground floor features an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, while the first floor hosts the bedrooms and a shower room with a WC. The kitchen is equipped with essential utilities, including an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, and freezer. For families traveling with young children, a cot and high chair can be requested, although guests are advised to bring their own cot linens.

Outside, guests can enjoy an enclosed private garden complete with furniture, a lawned area, children’s swings, and a barbecue, making it an ideal space for relaxation and outdoor activities. Ample private parking is available on-site, and general amenities such as heating and electricity, bed linen, and towels are provided. The first basket of logs for the fire is complimentary, with additional baskets available for purchase. WiFi is included, although it may be intermittent, suitable for general browsing rather than streaming on multiple devices.

Pet-friendly accommodations are available, allowing up to two dogs for an additional fee, provided arrangements are made at the time of booking. Guests should note that pets must remain on the ground floor during their stay. Smoking is not permitted in the property, and guests may need to pay an Accidental Damage Deposit or opt for a Damage Deposit Waiver. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, with local landmarks such as Powis Castle and Garden and Glansevern Hall Gardens, as well as opportunities for outdoor adventures in the Shropshire Hills and Lake Vyrnwy.
