Our stone built cottage has recently been modernised, but is around 400 years old with historic links to the McAdam family and General Cathcart. You won't find a quieter place in the UK!
It is strongly advisable that access via the farm track is via 4x4 as although accessible by car, the track is pot-holed in many places and needs great care with driving, cottage access not suitable for those with impaired mobility. As is the case with large parts of Scotland, midges can be troublesome especially on dull, windless days in the summer months. Nivea Skin so soft appears to keep them at bay. It is also recommended that windows and doors are closed in the evenings over the peak season.
