The cottage's unique location, well over a mile from any main road, offers guests a tranquil environment surrounded by nature, where deer, ponies, and cattle frequently visit, creating a serene atmosphere filled with the sounds of wildlife.

The cottage features a large lily-filled lake, where fish swim and various bird species, including herons and kingfishers, can be observed. The surrounding heathland is rich in biodiversity, showcasing rare flowers and plants, while the beautifully landscaped gardens of the main house are adorned with Rhododendrons, Azaleas, and numerous varieties of Daffodils. Guests at Kingfisher Cottage can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, with numerous walking and cycling trails available right from the doorstep, allowing for exploration along streams and gravel paths.

In close proximity to the cottage, Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary offers visitors the chance to see deer being fed daily, while the charming village of Burley is easily accessible on foot through the forest via a straightforward trail. This traditional New Forest village boasts a local store, gift shops, tea rooms, pubs, and even a cider farm, providing a taste of local culture and amenities.
