For a more challenging walk, take on the mighty Pen Y Fan (14 miles), the highest peak in southern Britain, which offers jaw dropping views from its summit. Head west to reach the picturesque Usk Reservoir (4.5 miles), a wonderful spot for cycling, stone skimming, picnics, fishing and walking. Or, for amenities, head east to reach the market town of Brecon (12 miles). This traditional double fronted stone cottage is brimming with charm both inside and out, with its original timber flooring, pretty windows and a stone inglenook fireplace.
